Equinor entered a strategic collaboration with Aker BP to develop tight reservoirs on the Norwegian continental shelf. The partnership aims to lower development costs and increase oil and gas recovery through joint technology development, standardization and knowledge sharing.

Mapped tight reservoirs have estimated recovery potential of around 2.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent, according to the Norwegian Offshore Directorate. Work will begin immediately, targeting opportunities across both companies’ portfolios to make more discoveries commercially viable.
