Equinor joins $150–300M EPCI contract for Angolan Block 15 Likembe project

EQNREQNR

ExxonMobil awarded a $150–300 million EPCI contract to SIA for the Redevelopment 2.0 Likembe project in Block 15, offshore Angola, a venture including Equinor. The project follows the May 2024 Likembe-01 discovery at 3,013m depth and targets Miocene reservoirs in 1,200m water depth.

1. EPCI Contract Award

ExxonMobil has contracted the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA) to deliver an EPCI scope valued at $150–300 million for the Redevelopment 2.0 Likembe project in Block 15 offshore Angola. Equinor is a key partner in this development, alongside ExxonMobil, Azule Energy and Sonangol.

2. Likembe-01 Discovery Background

In May 2024, the Likembe-01 well—drilled to 3,013 meters in 1,200 meters of water—encountered Miocene-age reservoirs within the Kizomba B development zone. The discovery involved Equinor working with ExxonMobil, Azule Energy and Sonangol.

3. Project Delivery and Local Impact

Project management and engineering will be coordinated from Subsea7 offices in Paris, Luanda, Lisbon and Sutton, with umbilical components handled by OneSubsea in Moss and Houston. The initiative is expected to enhance production capacity and support local capabilities in Angola.
