EquipmentShare, Cummins sign multi-year deal to deploy 1 gigawatt of mobile natural gas power fleet
CMI•EquipmentShare entered a multi-year agreement with Cummins to deploy up to 1 gigawatt of mobile natural gas generation capacity in the U.S. EquipmentShare expects the approach to cut contractors’ total energy costs by 50% to 80% versus traditional mobile power.
1. Fleet agreement
EquipmentShare will serve as a rental and distribution channel for Cummins power generation products tied to major energy projects. The planned fleet includes Cummins C1400N6C gas generator sets for temporary power, microgrids and battery energy storage deployments.
2. Fuel and cost plans
The strategy targets utility capacity constraints, using pipeline fuel where available and virtual pipeline logistics for off-grid sites. EquipmentShare expects the natural gas-led approach to cut contractors’ total energy costs by 50% to 80% versus traditional mobile power.
