Essential Utilities posted Q2 GAAP EPS of $0.37, down from $0.38 a year earlier; revenue rose 3% to $530.9 million.
GAAP net income slipped to $105.7 million from $107.8 million; adjusted EPS (non-GAAP) was $0.38, excluding merger-related costs.
Investment plan, merger progress and dividend
The company invested $662.2 million in infrastructure in the first six months and said it remained on track for $1.7 billion of regulated infrastructure investment in 2026.
Regulators in Virginia and Ohio issued orders approving the pending merger with American Water; closing remains targeted for Q1 2027.
The board lifted the quarterly dividend 5.25% to $0.3606 per share; the company reaffirmed 5%-7% long-term adjusted EPS CAGR through 2027 from 2024’s $1.97.
