Research collaboration on complexion shade matching
Estée Lauder entered a research collaboration with the University of Leeds to improve complexion shade matching across diverse global skin tones.
The project targets new scientific benchmarks for evaluating foundation, concealer and related products to reduce mismatches and support more natural-looking results.
The study is led by Dr. Kaida Xiao and uses psychophysical methods to link instrument color readings with consumer perception in real-world viewing conditions.
