EU Antitrust Chief to Probe Google's AI Stack; Poland Plans 3% Tax

EU antitrust chief Teresa Ribera will meet Google CEO Sundar Pichai in San Francisco to probe Alphabet's control over AI chatbots, training data, and cloud infrastructure. Teresa Ribera, the EU antitrust chief, will hold her first meeting with Sundar Pichai in San Francisco to examine Alphabet’s entire AI stack. The review will cover AI chatbots, the proprietary data sets used for model training and the cloud computing infrastructure that underpins Google’s AI services, addressing concerns over platform dominance and potential exclusion of rivals.

2. Poland's 3% Digital Services Tax Proposal

Poland’s deputy prime minister announced a bill to impose a 3% tax on revenues from digital advertising, data trading and platform services. The levy applies to firms with global sales exceeding €1 billion and at least PLN 25 million in Polish receipts, aiming to boost local budget revenues and level the playing field for domestic tech companies.
