WEAT•Wheat prices ease after recent rally
PARIS, Aug. 21 (Reuters) - Euronext wheat fell on Friday as traders booked profits following a four-week high and awaited further signs of the impact of war disruption to crucial Black Sea shipments.
December wheat BL2Z6, the most-active contract on Euronext, was down 1.1% at €238.25 a metric ton. On Thursday, the contract had reached its highest since July 24 at €242.
September futures BL2U6 fell more sharply as participants continued to exit the soon-to-expire position. The front-month contract was down 1.7% at €223.50 a ton.
Chicago wheat Wv1 also eased following a four-week peak on Thursday.
French crop conditions and price table
Showers and cooler temperatures this week in France, following record-breaking heat and drought this summer, could help field conditions for sowing of winter crops like rapeseed, wheat and barley.
