Euro Tech Launches Containerized Mobile Hybrid Facility for IMO D2 Ballast Water Treatment
CLWT•Euro Tech Holdings launched a containerized mobile hybrid ballast water treatment facility meeting IMO D2 standards, capable of removing invasive species, residual chemicals and total residual oxidants from shipboard water. The system adapts for port or trailer deployment and targets European markets through distributor partnerships for sales and service.
1. Next-Generation Mobile Hybrid Facility
Euro Tech Holdings introduced its next-generation mobile hybrid ballast water treatment (BWT) facility designed to comply with International Maritime Organization D2 regulations and stricter European environmental standards. The system expands treatment scope beyond invasive species to include residual chemicals and total residual oxidants generated by onboard electrolysis-type BWT systems.
2. Versatile Deployment and Effluent Options
The containerized facility can be deployed from port terminals or barges and adapted for trailer truck transit, offering shipowners maximum operational flexibility. Treated effluent can be discharged nearshore, transferred to municipal treatment plants for reuse, or reloaded onto vessels as clean ballast water.
3. European Market Strategy
Euro Tech is seeking a strategic partner within its European distributor network to drive local sales promotions, technical support and on-site operational services. The collaboration will include system showcases, marketing initiatives and direct service support to accelerate adoption of greener shipping solutions.
