Europe before the bell: not quite as bullish
SPY•European stocks were set to fall at the open, with STOXX 50 futures down 0.8% and FTSE futures down 0.4%, while US and European bond yields rose and French spreads widened.
1. European futures fall
European stocks were set to fall at the open, threatening a three-day winning streak as oil ticked higher. STOXX 50 futures were down 0.8% and FTSE futures down 0.4%; Asia stocks had also fallen, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at record highs overnight.
2. ABN Amro stake sale
Traders were expected to watch ABN Amro after the Dutch government said it would reduce its stake in the bank to 10.5% from 20.7%.
