Europe before the bell: ready for a jump
EWG•European stocks were set to open higher on Tuesday, with Euro STOXX 50 and FTSE futures up 0.6% and DAX and CAC futures up 0.5%. The gains would mark a third consecutive session of advances.
1. Futures point higher
European stocks were set to open higher on Tuesday as markets tried to look past the bond market rout. Asian stocks rose overnight after a tech boost lifted the Nasdaq to a record close.
2. France and company news
Investors remained on edge over French political and fiscal concerns ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Marine Le Pen was due to speak Tuesday morning, while French bonds found some relief on Monday. L'Oreal reportedly engaged restructuring advisers to explore options for rising U.S. legal liabilities linked to talc and other chemical ingredients; BPCE acquired around 7% of Sabadell; and Informa agreed to acquire Clarion for £2.24 billion ($2.96 billion) and separate Taylor & Francis.
