Europe before the bell: Slightly softer
SPY•European futures edge lower
European stock futures are slightly lower on Tuesday, suggesting indexes will fall for a second day, as oil prices climbed and bond yields rose to multi-year highs.
Euro STOXX 50 futures STXEc1 are down about 0.1%, after the index dropped 1% on Monday.
Futures on the CAC FCEc1 and FTSE FFIc1 are also a touch softer, while DAX futures FDXc1 are unchanged.
Energy, tech and banks in focus
Attention remains on oil and gas prices, which are creeping higher again on Tuesday after the Iran-aligned Houthis launched a new wave of attacks on Saudi Arabia, further threatening already-strained global energy supplies.
Tech stocks could also be in focus for a second day after industry leaders called for a slowdown in AI development.
Europe's banks are also a sector to watch at the open after Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan said on Monday that he expects investment banking fees to drop by at least 10% in the third quarter.
