MC•The Friedkin Group is open to selling a controlling stake in Everton to attract fresh investment and has retained Moelis & Company to advise on the process.
1. Sale process begins
Everton said its owners, The Friedkin Group, are open to selling a controlling stake in the Premier League club as part of efforts to attract fresh investment. The group said it would consider proposals from parties it believes can build on progress since its takeover and would continue supporting the club during the process.
2. Stadium and finances
The Friedkin Group acquired Everton from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024. Since then, it has overseen the club's move into Hill Dickinson Stadium and worked to improve its financial position. The owners said their immediate priority had been to provide stability, investment and support, including completing the stadium.
3. Investment adviser
The decision follows a summer transfer window that drew criticism from supporters, according to British media reports. Everton generated significant income through player sales but made limited squad additions before the deadline. The Friedkin Group also owns AS Roma and AS Cannes.
