Evofem contracts second manufacturer for Phexxi contraceptive gel

Evofem Biosciences contracted a second pharmaceutical manufacturer to produce its PHEXXI prescription contraceptive vaginal gel, expanding capacity to support U.S. and international growth.
The added source is expected to improve manufacturing flexibility, strengthen supply resilience, reduce costs, and improve product economics, subject to regulatory clearance.
Evofem expects to file a supplemental new drug application with the FDA in mid-2027 for PHEXXI made at the additional facility.
Commercial sales from the second supply are planned to start following FDA approval.
