Evolution Metals to host operational showcase of rare earth magnet facility outside China
EMAT•Evolution Metals & Technologies will hold a ribbon-cutting and operational showcase at its rare earth magnet plant in Pohang, South Korea, on Dec. 17, 2026. The site is a platform for planned magnet capacity above 10,000 metric tons, ahead of U.S. defense restrictions taking effect Jan. 1, 2027.

Evolution Metals & Technologies will host a ribbon-cutting and operational showcase at its rare earth magnet plant in Pohang, South Korea, on Dec. 17, 2026. The event will include a live production demonstration and facility tours, and the site is positioned as a platform for planned magnet capacity above 10,000 metric tons.
2. Defense restrictions ahead
The showcase is timed ahead of DFARS 252.225-7052 restrictions taking effect on Jan. 1, 2027, for Chinese-origin rare earth magnets in qualifying U.S. defense systems.
