Ex-Allbirds CEO Joe Vernachio to Lead Sorel Following AI Rebrand
BIRD•Allbirds completed its rebranding to an AI-focused firm with the exit of CEO Joe Vernachio, who steps down after leading the company since March 2024. Vernachio will assume the role of president at Sorel on June 22, succeeding Cory Long and leaving Allbirds in search of new leadership.

On June 18, Allbirds finalized an official name change as it shifts focus to AI and announced that CEO Joe Vernachio will step down after leading since March 2024, leaving the company without a chief executive.
2. Vernachio Joins Sorel as President
Effective June 22, Vernachio will become president of Columbia Sportswear Company’s Sorel brand, succeeding Cory Long and leveraging his prior leadership at Mountain Hardwear, The North Face, Nike, and Patagonia.
