1. Executives cancel travel
ExxonMobil and Chevron cancelled plans for executives to travel to the United Arab Emirates' ADIPEC oil show next week, citing security concerns, two sources familiar with the developments said. Exxon CEO Darren Woods and Chevron upstream president Clay Neff had been due to attend in Abu Dhabi.
2. Conference details
The online programme still listed BP CEO Meg O'Neill and Equinor CEO Anders Opedal. ADIPEC is expected to draw attendees from more than 170 countries, and the organiser said more than 120 US companies will exhibit.
3. Regional security concerns
The cancellations come as fears of renewed US attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes by Tehran have gripped oil markets. The US State Department last week ordered some diplomats to leave Saudi Arabia; US officials have also said the country plans to withdraw family members from a number of other missions in the region.
