Exxon Mobil Joliet refinery units restart in progress a week after power outage

The restart of key units at Exxon Mobil's 275,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Joliet, Illinois, was in progress one week after a plant-wide shutdown due to a power outage, consultancy Wood Mackenzie said on Monday.
The outage occurred on September 13, affecting power lines feeding into the Joliet refinery. Power was restored on the same day.
Key units including the 98,000-bpd fluid catalytic cracker and the reformer were in the process of getting back online on Monday. Huge flares were visible at the facility.
Exxon Mobil declined to comment on refinery operations.
