ExxonMobil holds 45% in the Stabroek Block, which produced 914,730 barrels per day end-2025, and is adding 650,000 barrels per day with Uaru, Whiptail, Hammerhead by 2029. A final investment decision on the Longtail gas project is due by end-2026, aiming for 1.8 million barrels equivalent per day by 2030.

1. Stabroek Block Production

ExxonMobil operates the 6.6-million-acre Stabroek Block offshore Guyana with a 45% stake alongside Chevron (30%) and CNOOC (25%). Production ramped up to 914,730 barrels per day by end-2025, establishing Guyana as one of the fastest-growing oil regions globally.

2. Upcoming Oil Projects

Three oil developments—Uaru (250,000 BPD), Whiptail (250,000 BPD) and Hammerhead (150,000 BPD)—are under construction and slated to start up between late 2026 and 2029. Combined, they will add at least 650,000 barrels per day of new capacity to the Stabroek Block.

3. Longtail Gas and Condensate Facility

The consortium plans a final investment decision on the Longtail development by end-2026, targeting 1.5 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and 290,000 barrels per day of condensate beginning in 2030. Longtail will be the group’s first gas-focused floating production facility.

4. Output Outlook and ExxonMobil Implications

With Uaru, Whiptail, Hammerhead and Longtail online, Stabroek’s total hydrocarbon output will exceed 1.8 million barrels equivalent per day by 2030. This expansion will bolster ExxonMobil’s upstream production profile and drive significant cash-flow growth into the next decade.
