Fastly expands partnership with Jio Platforms to power JioCDN in India
FSLY•Fastly expanded its partnership with Jio Platforms to scale JioCDN for businesses across India. The service runs on Jio’s 5G and fixed broadband footprint and has handled live-streamed events, including IPL matches.
1. Expanding JioCDN
JioCDN uses Fastly’s programmable edge cloud to accelerate content delivery across Jio’s 5G and fixed broadband footprint. The platform supports Reliance’s digital services, including JioHotstar, AJIO and JioTV. Jio cited reduced latency and security complexity at scale during large live-streamed events, including IPL matches.
