FCC Chair Brendan Carr said he would defer to Hegseth on whether US broadcast networks could air the planned December 3 military execution. Hegseth said the execution by firing squad of Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people and wounding 32 others at Fort Hood in 2009, would be livestreamed.
