FedEx report finds 73% of auto leaders see software-defined vehicles as key in next five years
FDX•A FedEx automotive supply-chain outlook based on a survey of 81 global industry executives found 73% expect software-defined vehicles to be very or extremely relevant to their business within five years.
1. Survey findings
Nearly 80% of respondents reported logistics model changes due to rising vehicle technology content, and 37% changed inbound or outbound transport modes over the past year. Over the next three years, investment priorities included nearshoring (46%), supplier diversification (44%) and end-to-end traceability (37%). Another 45% expect greater use of advanced materials within five years, while citing supplier availability, qualification timelines and cost pressures as constraints.
