Fed's Goolsbee doesn't see conflict between Fed and Treasury
TLT•Goolsbee says Fed and Treasury are not working at cross purposes
Aug. 28 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Austan Goolsbee said Friday he doesn’t see the central bank and Treasury Department working at cross purposes, in a CNBC interview.
Asked about recent moves by the Treasury to limit the rise in long-term yields, something that can affect Fed interest rate policy choices, Goolsbee said debt management issues are up to that part of the government and “those are just the conditions that we'll take when we set the policy.”
