Fed's Waller: One more high inflation reading will be a 'signal'
TLT•Waller says another hot inflation print would matter more
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on Monday that as he looks to inflation data published this week he will read a lot more into another high inflation reading than he would into a lower reading.
"We're building off of basically almost, you know, five to six months of 'higher, higher, higher, higher,'" on inflation readings, Waller said. "If I get another higher one, I'm gonna treat that as signal, not noise.... On the downside, because I've had five or six months in a row, I'm going to need maybe a couple more to say, OK, that really is signal."
