Fed's Waller signals willingness to be patient to watch for disinflation
TLT•Waller says he can wait for inflation data
NEW YORK, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on Thursday he's inclined to be patient on rate policy while watching to see if price pressures ease.
When it comes to watching the upcoming inflation data, “I'm going to paraphrase John Lennon here: Give disinflation a chance, and let's, we can wait one meeting” and see how the data comes in, Waller said at a Reuters NEXT Newsmaker event in Washington. “You want to take a chance to see if disinflation continues. But I'm not taking a big chance,” he said.
