RACE•Ferrari unveiled its first all-electric four-door Luce, developed with Jony Ive's LoveFrom, featuring four motors over 1,000 horsepower, a 500+km range and 600-liter trunk, priced at €550,000 with deliveries due Q4 2026. Shares dropped 4.6% as investors criticized Apple-like design and questioned fit within Ferrari's performance brand.
Ferrari revealed the Luce, its first fully electric four-door EV, created in partnership with LoveFrom, the design studio led by former Apple design chief Jony Ive and Marc Newson. The new model marks a strategic pivot into family-oriented luxury vehicles while showcasing a minimalist, tech-driven aesthetic.
The Luce features four electric motors delivering over 1,000 horsepower, a claimed range of more than 500 kilometers on a 122 kWh, 800-volt battery, a top speed exceeding 310 kph and a 600-liter trunk. Priced at €550,000 ($640,000), deliveries are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Shares fell 4.6% on debut as investors criticized the Luce’s sleek, Apple-like design departure from Ferrari’s traditional performance identity. Concerns centered on whether the model’s unconventional styling and family-oriented focus would resonate with the brand’s established luxury clientele.
With rivals Porsche and Lamborghini scaling back EV plans amid tepid demand, Ferrari is betting its cachet can attract younger, tech-savvy buyers in key markets like China. Meanwhile, blockchain network Solana gained attention by posting a stylized Luce ‘fix,’ underscoring social media engagement around the design.
