Finnish PM says no gas deals should be made with Russia during war

Finland's Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said no deals should be made to buy Russian gas while Moscow's war in Ukraine continues.

1. Orpo speaks in Kyiv

Orpo made the remarks during a visit to Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Zelenskiy said the two countries discussed cooperation in satellite communication, energy and logistics.

2. Finland halted imports

Finland stopped receiving Russian pipeline gas in May 2022 after refusing Russia's demand for payment in roubles, and ended Russian LNG imports in July 2024 under EU sanctions.
