Firefly Aerospace signs Starcloud payload deal for lunar-orbit computing demo
FLY•Firefly Aerospace signed an agreement to fly Starcloud’s SC-1L AI computing payload on its Elytra vehicle, with the mission targeted for no earlier than 2028.
1. Lunar-orbit demonstration
The SC-1L payload will fly on Firefly’s Elytra vehicle to validate a future data-center concept around the Moon. The mission is targeted to launch no earlier than 2028 on Firefly’s third lunar mission, and Elytra is planned to remain in lunar orbit for five years.
