First Carolina FY26 Q2 net income rises 10.87% to $5.1 million

Q2 net income and EPS rise
First Carolina posted second-quarter net income of $5.1 million, rising 10.87% year over year. Diluted EPS increased to $0.20 from $0.18.
Net interest income and margin improve
Net interest income climbed 8.75% to $25.59 million. Net interest margin widened 18 basis points to 3.23%.
Noninterest income and expense move lower
Noninterest income dropped 49.5% to $6.7 million, primarily due to a planned 2025 discontinuation of a banking-as-a-service partnership.
Noninterest expense fell 17.1% to $25.5 million, led by lower salaries, data processing costs, and consumer fraud and transaction losses.
