First Community Bancshares Q2 FY26 net income climbs 83.84% to $22.51 million

FCBC•Net interest margin (FTE, non-GAAP) edged up 1 basis point to 4.38%, while tax-equivalent net interest income (non-GAAP) climbed 13.87% to $35.05 million.
Noninterest expense increased 8.29% to $27.57 million; ROA rose 0.96 percentage points to 2.49% and ROE climbed 7.06 percentage points to 16.9%.
First Community Bancshares posted Q2 net income of $22.51 million, up 83.84% from a year earlier; diluted EPS rose to $1.19, up 77.61%.
Assets totaled $3.61 billion at June 30; loans grew $145 million from year-end 2025 and deposits increased $331.26 million, largely reflecting the Hometown acquisition.
Noninterest income more than doubled to $22.34 million on a $10.38 million pre-tax gain from selling its Bearing Insurance stake.
