First National Bank Alaska names Darren Franz CEO as Betsy Lawer shifts to executive chair
FBAK•First National Bank Alaska named Darren Franz CEO and president, while Betsy Lawer will become executive chair, effective Jan. 2, 2027.
1. Leadership changes
Franz, currently president of lending and administration and a director, has more than 30 years of Alaska banking experience. Effective Jan. 2, 2027, Steve Patin will become senior executive officer and chief operating officer, Karl Heinz will become senior executive officer and chief branch administration officer, and Denise Brown Robinson will become executive vice president and senior administrative director.
