First National reports higher quarterly profit and margin
First National posted Q2 2026 net income of USD 5.7 million, lifting basic EPS to USD 0.64 from USD 0.54 in Q1 2026.
Tax-equivalent net interest margin widened to 4.15% from 3.99% in Q1 2026, while net interest income rose to USD 20.1 million from USD 18.8 million.
Loans held for investment, net, increased USD 22.7 million in the quarter to USD 1.47 billion; total deposits edged down to USD 1.83 billion from USD 1.84 billion.
Credit costs stayed contained with a USD 426,000 provision; non-performing assets were 0.23% of total assets, with no OREO.
Management said it has all regulatory approvals to sell two North Carolina branches, targeting an October 2026 close and a one-time gain in Q4.
