First Phosphate Secures Non-Binding €170M EIFO Guarantee for Quebec Phosphate Project
First Phosphate Corp received a non-binding letter of intent from Denmark’s export credit agency for a contingent €170 million guarantee to support equipment and service purchases at its proposed igneous phosphate mine in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The AAA-rated EIFO guarantee would underwrite key procurement costs for the project’s development phase.

First Phosphate Corp received a non-binding letter of intent for a guarantee of up to €170 million from the Danish Export Credit Agency to back equipment and service purchases for its Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean igneous phosphate mine project in Quebec.
2. AAA-Rated Backing Strengthens Financing
The Danish state-backed guarantee carries an AAA rating, potentially lowering financing costs and de-risking capital expenditures for the mine’s development phase.
3. Funding Allocation and Project Scope
First Phosphate intends to allocate the guarantee toward procurement of mining equipment, including drills, crushers, and conveyors, supporting the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction stages.
