Quarterly earnings and returns improve
F&M Bank Corp. posted Q2 net income of $5.4 million, or $1.5 per diluted share, up $2.4 million year over year.
Return on average assets rose to 1.54%, while return on average equity climbed to 19.54%.
Net interest income and noninterest items support results
Net interest income increased to $12.3 million, driven by loan growth and lower interest expense from a shift out of time deposits.
Noninterest income rose $2.1 million on a $4.8 million gain from selling Bearing Insurance, partly offset by a $3.5 million securities-sale loss.
