FMC, AgroSpheres advance RNA-based bioinsecticide candidates into global field trials

FMC expanded a collaboration with AgroSpheres, moving two proprietary RNA-based bioinsecticide candidates into global field-trial development.

Trials are planned across the U.S., Brazil and Asia, shifting the program from discovery into large-scale, real-world evaluation.

The candidates target major lepidopteran pests; fall armyworm and diamondback moth are tied to nearly $14 billion in annual global losses and control costs.

The candidates were advanced following lab, greenhouse and small-plot tests that met or exceeded industry-standard insecticide benchmarks.
