1. Micron chip supply agreement
Ford has secured a long-term semiconductor supply deal with Micron, following a similar pact by General Motors. The agreement aims to stabilize chip availability for upcoming vehicle launches and comes after Ford trimmed its October profit outlook due to earlier component shortages.
2. Mustang vehicle recall
Ford is recalling 110,626 Mustang vehicles in the U.S. over two safety defects: windshield wiper motors that can malfunction and rear differential pinion shafts that may fracture. Affected owners will receive notices to have both components replaced free of charge under the company’s recall program.
