Ford said third-quarter US sales fell 6.6% from a year earlier to 509,764 units as the automaker phased out its Escape and Lincoln Corsair crossover models. Sales of Ford trucks, including the F-series, rose 0.5% to 315,112 units.
2. Hybrid demand grows
Ford executives said they were seeing more demand for hybrid powertrains, including in the F-150. Sales of the hybrid-available Maverick pickup rose a little over 20% to 41,970 units.
3. Costs weigh on buyers
