Forrester forecast global technology sovereignty to inch up to 40% by 2030 from 39% in 2025 across 14 countries.
China and the U.S. are projected to keep the highest scores at 82% and 79%, leaving most others reliant on alliances to close gaps.
Semiconductor manufacturing seen as the fastest-improving area
Semiconductor manufacturing is seen as the fastest-improving dimension. U.S. and South Korea chip production scores are forecast to rise to 79% by 2030 from 45%.
Japan's chip score is expected to increase to 53% from 36%; China's to 51% from 40%; and India's to 13% from 0%.
