Frontier Airlines agrees to early return 13 A320neo jets, expects $60 million-$80 million in non-cash charges

Frontier expects non-cash charges of $60 million-$80 million in the third and fourth quarters of 2026, largely tied to prepaid and capitalized maintenance write-offs.
The company also projects cash charges of $90 million-$120 million for lease termination and returns, with most payments due in 2028-2029.
On Aug. 29, 2026, Frontier agreed with AerCap to lease 10 A321neo aircraft for delivery from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027.
Early return deal for 13 A320neo jets
Frontier Group Holdings entered an early return deal on Aug. 25, 2026 to terminate leases on 13 in-service A320neo jets.
Aircraft returns are slated for the second half of 2026 and are expected to cut operating lease right-of-use assets and liabilities by about $260 million.
