FuelCell Energy names Matthew Latino as chief financial officer
FCEL•FuelCell Energy named Matthew Latino CFO, effective October 7, 2026, succeeding Michael Bishop in a planned transition. The company reaffirmed its goal of achieving positive adjusted core profit in the fourth quarter of 2027.
1. Leadership transition
Latino joins FuelCell Energy from Xylem, where he was senior vice president of finance and segment CFO for its Measurement & Control Solutions business. Bishop, who has spent more than two decades at the company, will remain a senior adviser through FuelCell Energy's 2027 annual shareholder meeting.
2. Company outlook
FuelCell Energy said it expects increasing demand for reliable power from AI and data center infrastructure to support growth. It previously laid off 22% of its workforce as part of a global restructuring plan to reduce operating expenses by 30% from a year earlier. Shares fell nearly 7% in premarket trade.
