GameStop FY26 Q2 net income rises 77.2% to $298.7 million; net sales drop 18.7% to $790.2 million

GameStop posted net income of $298.7 million for the quarter ended Aug. 1, 2026, up 77.2% from a year earlier.
Net sales fell 18.7% to $790.2 million, with collectibles rising to 45.1% of sales from 23.4%.
Operating income climbed to $160.2 million from $66.4 million, lifting operating margin by 13.5 percentage points to 20.3%.
Liquidity and capital return
Liquidity totaled $5.35 billion, including $4.85 billion cash, $206 million marketable securities, $294.1 million digital assets and related receivables.
The board authorized a new $2 billion share repurchase program; no shares were repurchased, while holdings included 43 million eBay shares valued at $4.9 billion.
