The COMMUTE sprocket supports mid-motor torque up to 75 Nm, broadening OEM applications and price points globally.

Gates Industrial has expanded its Belt Drive product portfolio with three distinct sprocket families—CRUISE, CRUISE PLUS and COMMUTE—designed to serve a broader range of bicycle OEM applications and price points from entry-level bikes to premium eBikes.

CRUISE offers a cost-efficient entry point for value-oriented bicycles; CRUISE PLUS delivers enhanced durability and longer service life for mid-range everyday and eBike applications; COMMUTE is engineered for urban eBikes with mid-motor systems up to 75 Nm, emphasizing weather resistance and low maintenance.
3. OEM Support and Market Rollout
Gates provides end-to-end support from drivetrain specification through production, deploying its materials science and high-volume manufacturing expertise to help OEM partners integrate belt drive solutions at scale.
