GE Aerospace, Magellan sign MOU to set up Canada F414 engine MRO capability
GE•MOU sets out Canada F414 engine MRO plan
GE Aerospace and Magellan Aerospace have entered a strategic memorandum of understanding to set up F414 engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capability in Canada.
The plan targets the F414-GE-39E engine used on Saab’s Gripen E, which is tied to Canada’s fighter selection for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Magellan facility to handle domestic sustainment work
Under the agreement, GE would train staff, grant licensing and designate Magellan as a domestic sustainment center of excellence.
MRO work would be performed at Magellan’s Mississauga facility, with the aim of providing in-country support and supporting long-term fleet readiness.
