GE Aerospace partnered with NASA, BETA Technologies and Boeing on a hybrid-electric flight test program under NASA’s Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration project.
The program delivered the first hybrid-electric flight above 30,000 feet, positioning the technology for next-generation commercial aircraft applications.
The test campaign achieved more than two hours in hybrid-electric operation, supporting performance and range claims for more-electric propulsion architectures.
The collaboration centers on GE’s megawatt-class, multi-kilovolt propulsion system, advancing readiness for broader hybrid-electric aviation deployments.
