GE Vernova to Deliver 28 Turbines for 100MW Gujarat Wind Farm
GEV•GE Vernova secured an order to deliver 28 of its 3.8MW-154m onshore wind turbines for Powerica’s 100MW Botad Wind Farm in Gujarat. Units will be manufactured at its Pune plant with deliveries starting in Q4 2026 and include installation, marking the 3.8MW model’s first deployment in India.
1. Order Agreement and Scope
GE Vernova finalized an agreement to supply 28 of its 3.8MW-154m onshore wind turbines to Powerica for the 100MW Botad Wind Farm in Gujarat, India. The contract includes full installation services and represents the turbine model’s debut in the Indian market.
2. Manufacturing and Delivery Timeline
All 28 turbines will be produced at GE Vernova’s Pune facility, which at full scale can support up to 1.5GW of annual production. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2026, aligning with project milestones under Powerica’s PPA obtained through Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s auction.
3. Turbine Features and Certifications
The 3.8MW-154m workhorse turbine offers a 30-year design lifespan, advanced lightning protection, a tubular steel tower and AI-powered digital blade certification for each blade. It has secured approval from India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and is listed on the national Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
4. Strategic Impact and Market Context
This order reinforces GE Vernova’s onshore wind footprint in India, where its business surpassed 5GW of installed capacity in 2025. It advances India’s 2030 target of 100GW wind capacity and builds on four prior Wind Farm collaborations between GE Vernova and Powerica.
