GEV•Order for Chesterfield substation
GE Vernova won an order from Laing O’Rourke to supply a 400 kV gas-insulated switchgear substation at Chesterfield for National Grid.
- The project supports National Grid’s Brinsworth-to-Chesterfield and Chesterfield-to-High Marnham transmission upgrades across England and Wales.
- The scope covers design, procurement, equipment supply, installation, testing, commissioning, integration work, and decommissioning of existing equipment.
- GE Vernova’s SF6-free g3 GIS technology is planned to help expand grid capacity for renewables and improve network resilience.
