Gemini Executives Exit After 25% Staff Cuts and Regional Pullback
Gemini Space Station Inc. said its COO, CFO and CLO departed immediately after cutting up to 25% of staff and winding down UK, EU and Australian operations. President Cameron Winklevoss will absorb COO duties, with Danijela Stojanovic as interim CFO and Kate Freedman as interim general counsel.
1. Executive Departures
COO Marshall Beard, CFO Dan Chen and CLO Tyler Meade all departed effective immediately, following a broad leadership shakeup. Beard also vacated his board seat and none of the departures stemmed from reported disputes with the firm.
2. Workforce Reduction and Regional Withdrawal
Earlier this month the company cut up to 25% of its workforce and announced plans to wind down operations in the UK, European Union and Australia. The moves mark a major contraction for one of the industry's longest-running crypto exchanges.
3. Interim Leadership Transition
President Cameron Winklevoss will absorb COO responsibilities while Chief Accounting Officer Danijela Stojanovic becomes interim CFO and Kate Freedman steps in as interim general counsel. The firm does not plan to appoint a permanent successor to the COO role at this time.
