Gen launches Fearless Planet Index tracking daily scam and cyber threat trends worldwide

Gen launched the Fearless Planet Index, a continuously updated cyber-safety intelligence hub tracking scams, threats, malware, and identity risks across 245 countries.

North America showed the highest average digital risk at 29.6%, followed by Europe at 28.5% in the initial regional comparison. Country-level patterns highlighted online shopping scams in the U.S. and dating scams across parts of Europe, underscoring localized risk dispersion.

Early readout flagged phishing as the top scam category globally, with more than 120 million phishing attacks detected in the latest 30-day snapshot. Scams or malicious advertising made up more than 80% of categorized threats, indicating consumer fraud outpacing traditional malware in measured activity.
