Generac, CPower Expand PJM Distributed Generation to 6.7 GW Capacity Starting June

GNRCGNRC

Generac is partnering with CPower to deploy batteries, generators and microgrids across PJM starting June 2026, enabling commercial and industrial customers to participate in capacity, ancillary services, energy and on-bill programs to earn demand response revenue and reduce electricity costs. The deal pairs Generac’s equipment and dealer network with CPower’s 6.7 GW VPP platform across 23,000 sites to optimize economic dispatch and enhance facility resiliency as power prices reach record highs.

1. Partnership Details

Generac has teamed with CPower to integrate its DER platform—generators, battery storage and microgrids—with CPower’s virtual power plant and demand response services across PJM’s grid. Starting June 2026, commercial and industrial customers will gain access to capacity, ancillary services, energy and on-bill programs.

2. Customer Programs

Participants can deploy distributed energy assets to earn demand response payments, lower capacity charges and generate on-bill savings by reducing grid consumption during peak events. The combined solution supports optimized economic dispatch by pairing equipment installation with market activation expertise.

3. Scale and Strategic Impact

CPower brings a 6.7 GW VPP platform spanning over 23,000 sites, while Generac leverages its dealer network for rapid deployment and competitive lead times. This collaboration marks a strategic move to scale Generac’s C&I business and drive recurring energy revenue.
