General Fusion topped a field of 250 companies with a 96.68 score, selected from over 8,300 global applicants. The recognition highlights momentum behind its fusion approach and enhances its profile in the clean energy sector.
2. LM26 Demonstration Machine
In early 2025 the LM26 demonstration unit began operation and, by mid-2026, the device mechanically compressed plasma to 8.4 million degrees Celsius. This milestone represents a more-than-threefold increase in electron temperature and advances towards commercial-scale Magnetized Target Fusion.
3. Commercialization and SPAC Merger
The company signed a framework agreement with Renexia S.p.A. to explore deploying its fusion technology on Italy’s power grid, marking a transition from lab research to real-world applications. It also filed for a business combination to become a publicly traded pure-play fusion company under the symbol GFUZ on Nasdaq.
