GMGM

General Motors delivered 626,429 vehicles in Q1, a 9.7% year-over-year decline driven by winter storms and tough 2025 comparisons. First-quarter fleet sales climbed 8% to the best level since 2020 and EV volume held at 25,900 units, with Cadillac EVs up 20% and a record GMC retail share.

1. Q1 Sales Decline

General Motors reported Q1 deliveries of 626,429 vehicles, marking a 9.7% decline from a year earlier as severe winter storms suppressed early-quarter demand and comparisons to a strong 2025 skewed results.

2. Fleet and Pickup Strength

Even with overall volume down, GM recorded its best first-quarter fleet performance since 2020, up 8%, and expanded share in full-size pickups, led by Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models.

3. Electric Vehicle Performance

EV shipments remained steady at 25,900 units, securing GM’s position as the No.2 U.S. EV seller; Cadillac EV sales rose 20% and GMC achieved a record retail share, driven by Canyon and Terrain SUVs.
